FAQ
How are the remaining calls calculated?
We calculate (life expectancy − parent's current age) × weekly call frequency × 52 weeks. Average call duration is assumed to be 10 minutes.
Where does the 83-year life expectancy come from?
Based on Statistics Korea's 2024 data, the average Korean life expectancy is approximately 83.6 years. You can adjust this freely based on your parent's health.
How are the 'Did you eat?' counts calculated?
We assume an average of 3 greetings per call (e.g., 'did you eat?', 'how are you?', 'sleep well'), so the count is total calls × 3.
How much does increasing call frequency matter?
Going from monthly to weekly calls is roughly 4× more time; daily calls give about 28× more. Small changes in frequency create big differences.
Why was this calculator made?
Time with parents can feel infinite, but the numbers tell a different story. This calculator was built to remind you of what truly matters.
